Ron Lively serves as Founder/Director of Switch&Support & Executive Director of Healthy Initiative Ministries (HIM) based in Franklin, TN (USA). Biblical Mentoring is currently dba HIM. He is doing tent-making work as an IBO with ACN to help support the ministry work.
Ron was born on a small rural farm in Green Sulphur Springs, WV. Hard work on the farm, church activities along with leadership roles in Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4H programs – all offered valuable leadership development. After earning a B.S. in Business Administration / Accounting at Concord University in nearby Athens, Ron served for ten years in hospital administration / accounting in four hospitals in WV, SC, GA and MS. During this time, he started and finished his studies at Reformed Theological Seminary where he earned the M.Div. (Divinity) and the M.A. (Marriage & Family).
For internship work, he served as a chaplain at a Rehabilitation Hospital in Jackson, MS. As an ordained chaplain, he then served with ministries like the Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA.org), The Navigators, and with Medical Mobilizers which is also a dba of Healthy Initiative Ministries (HIM). HIM is an IRS approved 501(c )3 non-profit organization. Switch&Support was established to help generate financial support for HIM while generating the majority of the income for participating organizations.
Ron has worked with the Institute for Affordable Transportation / BUV Ministry in Indianapolis as lately in developing a new electric utility tricycle called the MOBI Trike. This is on their web atwww.driveBUV.org. The goal is to develop some additional factories to manufacture the Basic Utility Vehicles (BUVs) primarily in suitable countries in Africa.
He also served as the International Director of SEED Liberia which will be re-established when we develop some educational and economic projects in Liberia.
From years of working in medical ministries, Ron’s passion is to introduce mission minded individuals to effective fundraising programs to supplement their financial support while helping ourselves become more self-supporting as a home marketplace missionary.
Personal Info: Ron’s oldest daughter, Renee and her husband Craig, live in Anderson, SC with their three children. Ron and Penny have four grown children who live in or near Franklin, TN. Leeann and JJ with their son (John Holden) live in Murfreesboro, TN. Josh lives in Madison, AL. Laura and Patrick and daughter (Penelope) live in Franklin, TN. Andrew and Justine with her son Hayden and his twins, Sawyer and Marlana and their daughter, Ruthie live in Columbia, TN.
